Marys Beauty salon is closing its doors for good.
The salon, which opened in March of 2018, has closed its doors after three years of operation, according to a news release from the salon’s owners, Marys Beauties.
The Marys beauty salons first opened in May 2017 in the heart of downtown Dayton, Ohio.
At the time, the owner was selling a salon she owned in Columbus, Ohio, and wanted to expand her operation in Dayton, the Dayton Business Journal reported.
The business had previously operated out of a home in Dayton and had only two locations, one in downtown Dayton and one in a strip mall, according the Business Journal.
Marys beauty and salon staff has been notified, according.
The closure of the salon follows a yearlong investigation by the Dayton Police Department into the business’s operations, the release said.
The investigation resulted in a criminal charge in February of 2018 against an employee who was allegedly selling drugs.
In addition to selling drugs, the salon was suspected of providing drugs to a woman who was treated in a medical facility in Dayton.
The woman was hospitalized in December 2018 after she was treated at the Marys Salon.
The owner of the Mary’s Salon has been charged in the case.
