A beauty salon is opening in Dublin after a successful two-year run in the US.
It is called Simply Beautiful Salon in Little Ireland.
The salon will offer free haircuts, manicures, skincare and makeup treatments for women over 50 years old, who will also have the option of having their hair professionally styled.
This will be a joint venture between Simply Beautiful Salon and the Irish Beauty Salon Association.
Simply Beautiful has been a well-established beauty salon in the city for many years.
There are more than 500 locations across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Belgium.
Its owner, Barbara Hickey, says the salon is not only about the customers, but the staff and staff members who are there for them.
“We’ve had great feedback from the Irish people and we’ve been so grateful for it.
We love what we do, we really do and we want to be here to stay,” said Hickey.
Barbarosa Barbera, who runs the salon, says its an honour to be working in such a historic city like Dublin.
“It’s great for us to be able to create a space for the Irish community in this city,” she said.
Dublin’s beauty salon has already had a few guests.
On Friday, a young couple came in for a haircut, with their daughter and her mum, and said they felt like they had “seen the future”.
“It was amazing, we felt like we were part of history,” said Lauren McEvoy.
Her mum, who works in the advertising industry, said it felt like a new beginning for the local community.
“I’ve seen so many beautiful women come in and we’re so proud of them, we just feel like it’s going to make a huge impact in the community,” she added.
After the event, Simply Beauty Salon is expecting a crowd of more than 1,000 people.
