Hollywood beauty salon owner and owner of the Hollywood beauty clinic says there was never a shortage of talent.
“When you look at all the movies and television shows we’re in, we have all these great, talented actresses that are coming to the show, they’re coming for the makeup, the hair, the makeup and the hairpiece,” said Sarah Schulman, who co-owns Hollywood Beauty Salon.
“But there’s no shortage of great talent.
It’s like the whole world is in the movie business.
You can’t just sit back and have a look and go, ‘That was a good job.'”
Schulman said she always had a few extra days off each month.
“I’m very, very lucky to have a great group of people who come to my salon every month and they are always looking for great work.
I would never say we are in a drought, but I think there is always a few people out there that can do a job that is really unique, but not everyone has that.”
While it’s difficult to pinpoint the last year or two when the Hollywood salon closed, one thing that has stood out is that most of the cast members who made their Hollywood debut on TV have gone on to become great actors, directors and producers.
“I’ve seen people who are just in their 40s, 50s,” Schulmann said.
“And they’re all doing great work.”
But there are still some people out here that are still working.
Schulmans favorite celebrity who is still working is her daughter, who works at the Hollywood Beauty Clinic.
“My daughter, she’s in her 50s, so she’s always in a beauty chair,” Schuilman said.
“But she also does hair and makeup and nails and hairpieces and all that.
She is amazing.
So I really love her.
But she is in a different profession.”
Schulmans daughter is still very much a part of the business.
She has even started her own business, “My Daughter’s Hair & Makeup Salon,” which is still in business.
She has a passion for making her own makeup and hair and wants to open her own salon to bring more of her daughter’s talent to the world of makeup and beauty.
“It’s a really great feeling,” Schulzman said of the recent addition of her own hair and beauty shop to the Hollywood clinic.
“It’s not like it was a dream, but it’s something that is possible.
It is a little bit like, I’ve got a lot of stuff going on in my life, but that’s okay.
I’m just going to keep working.”
Hollywood Beauty Salon is open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is located at 515 N. Broadway, Hollywood, CA 90047.
